In the casino Blackjack card game players compete individually against the casino dealer to get their card values closest to 21 without going over 21.
Blackjack Card Values
Aces are worth 1 or 11. Picture cards are worth 10. All other cards have their face value.
To play casino blackjack you must first sit down at a blackjack table and place your bet in the centre of the rectangular box on the blackjack cloth immediately in front of you. The casino dealer will then provide you, and all other players, with 2 face up cards and the dealer will show 1 face up card. Each player, in turn, is then offered to either stay on their current score or take an additional card. If the score is over 21 the bet is lost and cards removed from the table. Once all players have finished then the blackjack dealer will take their own cards. The dealer has one rule to follow. If their cards have a value of 17, or more, then they play that score.
Scores between each player are compared to the dealers score. If the scores are equal then this is called a blackjack push and nothing happens*. If the player scores better than the dealer they win and whatever the amount bet is matched by the casino dealer. If the player scores less then they lose their bet.
