A tournament director (TD) is usually required when your poker tournament has 4 or more tables but can also be used to oversee 1-3 tables if desired. The person we provide is usually very experienced in running tournaments and comes with a written set of rules for players to abide by. If their are any disputes then the TD will be able to identify the appropriate ruling on the rule sheet or if something is not covered then a decision made to settle any arguments. The TD can also talk further the reasoning about any controversial decisions after the torunament or during the tournament if not otherwise engaged. This allows anyone organising the torunament to have a neutral independent adjudicator to avoid the potential uncomfortable repurcussions of criticism about unfavourable decision making between friends or colleagues etc.
Usually the director will arrive up to 1 hour prior to start time to set up and go through the itiniary and 5 of their time is for running the tournament. Extra hours are charged 75 per hour.
Note that no VAT is charged on this item as it is operated by a non-VAT registered third party appointed by Poker Shop.
